My Newest Ship

I came home to see boosters being assigned to Guardians in alliance chat. I was to tired for whatever excitement they were off to do. It seems they decided to go tangle with Specter Fleet's nestor public fleet. After twelve hours and my work weekend finally ending, I was a bit dead on my feet and in my mind. I find PvP to be an exhausting pastime. I also tend to go from tired to grumpy to full blown toddle tantrum quite easily when I'm worn out.

The previous evening, after that twelve hours, I was trying to put a Rorqual hull into build. I had picked up the last pieces and it was now ready for its final assembly. I sat there, clicking on my Rorqual trying to find the use blueprint button and not being able to. Click. Where is it? Click. What? Click. Is my stuff broken?

No. No. I was clicking on my actual, Rorqual. My Rorqual, Buttered Scone, who is fit and rigged. He is not a blue print but my tired mind had focused on the image of a Rorqual as my goal to click and build a blueprint. Hence, crossed wires and failure to produce.

This is Baking Sheet.

Baking Sheet was just pulled out of the oven today. He is a Charon and he was born in a low sec station for the goal of helping with capital production. We decided to create him because this billion plus ISK ship is the cheap alternative.

How did I get here? How did I reach this land where I've decided to risk a billion plus ship as the smart and easy thing to do? The journey was rather easy when the other risk was six billion ISK ships if one used the jump freighters, two billion ISK ships if one used the Rorqual, or twenty some trips per build if one used the Deep Space Transport. I only have but one heart and it was having fits every time I warped a jump freighter about space, even from a station to a POS.

This is also a direct side effect to changes like Crius and Phoebe. Using the arrays to decrease my mineral cost is an important part of bringing reasonable prices to buyers. The refining changes have caused sourcing and moving materials to matter. The jump changes mean home grown capitals are suddenly a greater asset then ever before as well as the general uptick in capital usage usage that I've been seeing.

This part of Eve is important as well. I could only write about fleets and PvP. But there are so many things to do. So many people don't see low sec past its gatecamps and flashy pirates destroying everything. It is more. It can be more. It just takes people for it to be more. It is not that those things are a lesser thing. It is that they are one of many things that make up the every day. Most of my mornings are composed of a few cynos to get market goods into system. My afternoons installing and moving builds while I miscount minerals and make sure the POS fuel is topped up. It is almost amusing how much time it takes up. Almost.

  1. When I saw the title, I clicked instantly, hoping to see Pixie Vixen in an Avatar.

But a freighter is nice too. But why Charon? Do you need that extra cargo space instead of the faster align of the Fenrir or the extra tank of the Providence?

    1. Save me from super carriers. I like nu pilots too much.

Its absoutly the cargo space. I use a providence in high sec. I use a Rhea to jump.

Thus ship warps between station and a pos moving minerals and hauling capital parts. Cargo space matters.

Sugar’s Non-Technical Guide to Making Boosters

Welcome to my non-technical and outdated but probably still useful guide to boosters.  There have been changes to how things are built in Eve. This was the old POS code before the introduction of new structures in 2016.   This is just a walk through on my wobbling path of booster production.  It took me half a dozen different documents to figure out what I needed to do to make these mythical things.  It is what I do.  It may not be perfect but it works.

This is pirate focused industry.
This guide brought to you by Lain asking me to write it after I tried to explain it in chat.

Why make boosters? Because drugs are good.  Really they are performance enhancers and performance enhancers can give someone that extra edge in PvP.  It was also because my boys used them and when they ran low they often ran out, I could be their supplier.  They would no longer hoard their drugs due to the length of time it takes to get fresh product.. The thought of being a drug kingpin was also very appealing. …

Have you done your Eve Vegas Survey?

I did attend Eve Vegas to the shock of many. I'd already paid for it and allotted the time. It seemed that I should go.

I went to the Grand Canyon and Hoover as well. This is not the space to discuss those amazing places or my new Camera.

Eve Vegas was a bit harder for me to go to then I expected. I've detached from Eve for the most part these past months. It is very easy to be angry, frustrated, and bitter about the past that I lived on. The game, its development, and the players move on while I find myself emotionally stuck. That emotional stickiness does not need to be given to everyone else. Part of experiencing it was shielding people from it. But, as I accepted my items and stared down the poor gentleman that tried to put a wristband around my wrist, I realized that I wasn't in as good of a place as I had hoped to be.

That is where the Survey comes in. There are a few things that I could say and did say. A few of the questions made me want to say a bit more.

One was …

CSM: Running for Office: Week Six

Nine days untill  the polls open.

It is amazing how much effort can go into crafting thirteen hundred characters. When I first looked at my CSM application I thought that it would be easy to write the official words. Of course it was not. The limit was the largest hurdle. I had so much to say and so few words to say it in. But, I eventually worked through it and submitted everything last Sunday evening. I sent off my passport at the same time and now it is just a short, but long wait.

Tomorrow is the final day of application submissions. Then, on the 3rd, we should find out who actually submitted their applications and passports and passed their background checks. The polls open the following Tuesday. I’ve checked my submission a few times. If I try to fill out the form with Sugar again it tells me that she has already submitted one. I sent my e-mail to the correct place. How I wish for a confirmation email to stare at. For now, i just fret. When I started the run I was worried about …
