I gratefully recall the veterans who taught me the very basics when I was a podpole. Why can't I shoot anyone with a mining laser? These conversations turned EVE from an awkward "Excel Background" into a social experience. <br /><br />Teaching a Newb to blow someone up is the very best one can do - even if it results in lost ships. The itch to "touch someone" gets developed not by killmails but adversity and in adversity, losing is as great a motivator as winning.
