Although CCP doesn't deletes account data, a deleted character may become corrupted during the transfer, so it's advisable to regret the deletion sooner than 6 months after deleting it.

Deleted items can't be retrieved though, as they have unique Ids which are cleared from the database when the items are deleted or repackaged. Then the Id is recycled and assigned to another item, which is why it's difficult to give back any stolen items.Angry Onionsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-238324579504790.post-28559594332062884962015-04-24T05:34:00.086-04:002015-04-24T05:34:00.086-04:00I once deleted all of my main characters on 4 acco...I once deleted all of my main characters on 4 accounts - I thought I was done with Eve and I didn't want any temptation to come back. After about 2 months I started missing the game and decided to come back. I wrote CCP and told them what I had stupidly done and they were nice enough to give me back all 4 of my main characters minus their possessions. They did however give me back my 15bil ISK. So I lost a bunch of ships and fittings but got back my toons. Because of CCP's willingness to return my characters I've remained a loyal player for over 4 years. I um....It's not just the girlfriends and wives. I um... may have accidentally almost deleted the wrong character once, and that 10 hour grace period saved me.

All of my accounts have a naming convention. Same first name on each account, different last name. That way, let's say Bob Account, is all manufacturing, and all of them are named Bob Something. Jim Account on the other hand, all the characters are for moving stuff around. Trust me, in the way my brain charts things, it makes sense to do it that way. Normally it all works out, but if I'm doing lots of things at once... sometimes I have a tendency to just read the first few letters and go with it.Halyconhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16799009527451064697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-238324579504790.post-32893190202841250802015-04-24T00:01:43.101-04:002015-04-24T00:01:43.101-04:00"Character deletion takes ten hours. This happens all the time. When I was working with a large game company, building the character database was one of my jobs. The database never actually deleted characters, just unlinked them from the account and deleted the "live" connections like guild affiliation (We would have purged market connections too, if the game had supported them. It didn't.)

Then, when someone calls a few days later, and tells us their tale of woe about how they "accidentally" deleted their character... CS could easily resurrect it and relink it to their account.

It took us a while to figure out what was really going on. People's loved ones would get pissed at them for playing the game so much and figure out their account / password... then delete their characters to punish them.
