I simply decided to do so.

You can also make an alt to escape your rep. The buyer takes the rep and interesting things happen. This is why character sales are to be public. I know I check to see if someone who applies for a corp I am in has purchased their character and if they did I expect that in the app.Sugar Kylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15437978687639772023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-238324579504790.post-12841892951819022272014-10-15T13:24:09.101-04:002014-10-15T13:24:09.101-04:00I'm a little confused - by "saving Silva,...I'm a little confused - by "saving Silva," is Rixx paying Silva to keep his character, or is Rixx buying the Silva character in order to preserve it and keep others from using it?

If the former, what is to keep Silva from turning around a month or so from now and "selling" himself again to raise another 20 billion ISK? This seems to be a situation where players with "famous" characters could effectively hold those characters for ransom.

On the general topic, I'm fundamentally against the idea of character sales in this game specifically because we are told that reputations matter, and our reputations are supposed to follow us. How does this logic hold when you can dump your reputation onto someone else?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-238324579504790.post-6073502097721947452014-10-14T22:25:42.283-04:002014-10-14T22:25:42.283-04:00For some making ISK is an enjoyable activity in an...For some making ISK is an enjoyable activity in and of itself. For most, I think, it's simply a means to an end. I gave a friend enough ISK for a PLEX this month because he had unexpected bills this month and was going to have his account lapse. I'm not going to make any ISK from this activity but 780 mil to have a friend continue to play with me seems a small price to pay. If it's worth it to you to help keep a character alive then it sounds like a good investment. How other people value an activity is entirely irrelevant. That's the beauty of EVE each person is free to pursue whatever goals get them to log on.
