Its the best game in the world for this. I'm getting there though, step by step.

I don't really get why people would quit over a loss either, just suck it up. As soon as you get out of station your ship is lost.

It's a mentality I'm trying to adapt.. It seems some ppl play...Eve isn't for everyone. It seems some ppl play mmos to get away from the cause and effect of real life. However some of us know the secret, lifes not beautiful without pain and the same can be true In a game. If u want that easy win experience maybe WoW is for you, for ppl that like to overcome things (i suspect this is why alot of eve players are successful IRL) there is pretty much only eve. Everything else just feels like push button get bacon. Eve is the most rewarding mmo because loss matters. Take away the loss and Eve is easily out classed graphicly by almost any other mmo out there.Malcolm Shinhwanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-238324579504790.post-77858988305533433312013-11-25T13:48:59.817-05:002013-11-25T13:48:59.817-05:00I really think those quit e-mails come from player...I really think those quit e-mails come from players who are missing out on the Meta game as presented in the eve community - blogs, fan sites, forums etc.
When I first heard about Eve and started reading a few blogs I quickly learned Eve = risk (and therefore I was hooked).
As I started the tutorials I knew what to expect if I went into low-sec (as in the risk I would be taking) - the person in linked quit post really only understood a part of what Eve is about. Their misunderstanding led to the feelings of "unfairness".
I had my biggest loss yet recently - and I have been drawn even further into the game because I want to get better at it and not have that kind of loss again. The "Go explore Wal-Mart" comment ...Amen. The "Go explore Wal-Mart" comment on the thread made me laugh. I started exploring way beyond what was safe within my first months as a noob - as soon as I could train a CovOps. I still fly that exact same CovOps today, almost daily. It's very hard for me to empathize with "explorers" who want no risk.Rhavashttp://interstellarprivateer.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
