CSMX - Post #04

CSMX got full access to CCP this week and the shared CSM/CCP channel has been buzzing along. Later, it may slow down. Confluence access is not yet together/ For now, after being pent up for some weeks there is a lot to say. With no confluence what is being said would normally go into a longer form post. And a lot of what is being said is about structures.

Sov is puttering along the development path for June. The null sec guys are all over it and the takeover mechanics as well as structures. I know that the structure team has not been commenting in the threads. They have been reading them and going over the ideas, insights, and comments laid out. I'm hoping to see the follow up round soon.

One question that I have been asking players in and familiar with faction warfare is market hubs in locked down systems. These hubs will be attackable. Is that content enough to allow the enemy faction(s) to access market items in a system they cannot dock in?

Cruiser burners are on Sisi but they are not in their finished state yet. Special thanks to Abavus Durden who has been playing with them. Having Sisi only give burners has been asked for and it will be happening.

I've also had a few sit downs about SKINs as people double check what is supposed to happen when the application goes live. As I understand it, if you have a BPC of a skin right now that will turn into a token for a license. That license will be an item you can sell or use. If you have a skinned ship that ship will turn into a token and a vanilla hull.

There is a thread about the damage control icon change. Some people hate it. Some love it. Many are indifferent. I feel kind of sad. I thought the medical kit was cute. It also made sense to me and I liked the idea of bandaging my ship. The new icon has the redeeming feature of being blue. However, it is not an object like so many other icons. Its more a symbol or logo. That, more than anything else, is throwing me off. It just doesn't fit into the module row.

I'm still catching up to e-mail and eve-mail. I know that I am behind. I've had a lot of challenging questions and ideas thrown at me and I've not been at my best these last few weeks. I'm much more recovered and beyond a lingering and persistent cough, about up to speed finally. It will be nice when my voice comes back. As for those mails, they will all be answered, I beg patience in this.

When it comes to interacting, I'm going to try to attack Eve Uni coms next Sunday. I'm still planning on a local meet up next Saturday. It conflicts with another one but that may not be so bad. I've been struggling with the where to hold it and I just give in and we will go back to the same ale house as last time and then go from there.

  1. I too will miss the old suit/briefcase... I agree that the new icon doesn't look like a module either. There was nothing wrong with the old icon, I don't know why anyone would want to change it....

    1. Sugar, can you answer this? Why are they changing the DCU icon? Is there a reason? other than cause 'change'. I have no issue with needed changes... but unnecessary changes that break lore and history or just that... unnecessary... so why?

  2. When the skins change, where will the token be placed or given to if the ship is in an sma at a pos?

    1. Oh man what a question. I have an idea but I'll get it confirmed.

  3. Playing with the Talos burners has been fun and interesting. After flailing randomly with different ships over the past few sessions, I managed to get them down with the Deimos today.

I'd keep testing but it's a nice day and the patio furniture won't redeploy from the garage by itself. :)

As a FW participant, I say yes.

  5. How do I access the market items if I can't dock? Are they put in put in my hold ? Do I need to be close to the station to acess them ? Certainly being able to re supply in system is very useful

    1. Without knowing exactly I speculate that it will be like current corp market orders. It will go to a hangar and you can drop it into your cargo hold.

Maybe one day!

It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

Conflicted

Halycon said it quite well in a comment he left about the skill point trading proposal for skill point changes. He is conflicted in many different ways. So am I. Somedays, I don't want to be open minded. I do not want to see other points of view. I want to not like things and not feel good about them and it be okay. That is something that is denied me for now. I've stated my opinion about the first round of proposals to trade skills. I don't like them. That isn't good enough. I have to answer why. Others do not like it as well. I cannot escape over to their side and be unhappy with them. I am dragged away and challenged about my distaste.  Some of the people I like most think the change is good. Other's think it has little meaning. They want to know why I don't like it. When this was proposed at the CSM summit, I swiveled my chair and asked if they realized that they were undoing the basic structure that characters and game progression worked under. They said th
