CSM9 - Day 239

Things were rather slow making for a short update. However a few things did slip in before Christmas slowed everything to a halt.

On Tuesday, CCP Rise posted the first major edit to the recon rebalance thread which has passed 100 pages. In this revision the Pilgrim gets tweaked for neut range and strength, the resists are dropped to increase the general fragility, and the dscan immunity is staying. This has calmed some and upset others who wanted recons to have a viable, tanking, core fleet role.

Also, on Tuesday a module rebalance dev blog was posted. This was noted by CCP Seagull in her Proteus overview. I’d not seen any of the module rebalancing and a lot of this hits me in my Jaguar fit. CCP has taken a step back with the renaming schemes and is trying to preserve some of the creativity of the names. Making everything bland and tasteless makes sense in a way but it is boring. Science Fiction is supposed to be fun and creative and thoughtful and exciting. It looks like a few new modules are being added to the Ore and Syndicate loyalty point stores. Improving NPC nullsec LP stores and LP stores has been something that has been pushed for. The feedback thread is here.

While it is not busy, I’ve still found ample CSM things to do with my time. The summit is in a few weeks. I’ve sat down over the last few days and gone through my notes and my mailbox to fill out my From the Players to CCP document sections. These are questions, ideas, and concerns that come to me. I gather them up and the ones that I cannot get answered over time come with me to the Summit. I organize these by session and when they go, “Anything else?” I can whip out my notebook and make sure that I’ve touched on everything.

I’ve requested a few sessions and I think I will make another request or two. I’d like to check in the general health of low sec. I’d like to see how the capital changes are going. I want to talk about fighter assist. I really want to sit down with the UI team on points. I’d love to find someone to listen to some market and contract points and cleanup because that really did not get touched on last time. All I can do is prepare and do my best to get all of it on the table.

My CSMX interview with Cap Stable should be next weekend. The weekend after I’ll hold my monthly talk. That should get everything caught up by the time the summit starts.

Comments

  1. The issue I have with ORE is that it is essentially for the industrialist. The missions are L4 mining missions. (which I have done on Sisi). I doubt these are even run by anybody in the game. (some stats for confirming this?). I think adding the LP available into hi-sec would increase a consumption of ORE faction goods as well as a decent isk sink. If Sisters and Thukker are available, then why not ORE?

    1. I run L4 mining missions, but only in low sec. I like the ice mining and gas harvesting ones. The ore mining ones don't pay out well considering the length of time it takes.

I should probably try to find out which skill hardwiring sells the best. The LP isn't bad. And yes, easier access to ORE would be nice. I should try to ninja mine some day.

Maybe one day!

It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

And back again

My very slow wormhole adventure continues almost as slowly as I am terminating my island in Animal Crossing.  My class 3 wormhole was not where I wanted to be. I was looking for a class 1 or 2 wormhole. I dropped my probes and with much less confusion scanned another wormhole. I remembered to dscan and collect my probes as I warped to the wormhole. I even remembered to drop a bookmark, wormholes being such good bookmark locations later. My wormhole told me it was a route into low sec. I tilted my head. How circular do our adventures go. Today might be the day to die and that too is okay. That mantra dances in the back of my head these days. Even if someone mocks me, what does that matter? Fattening someone's killboard is their issue not mine. So I jumped through and found myself in Efa in Khanid, tucked on the edge of high sec and null sec. What an interesting little system.  Several connections to high sec. A connection to null sec. This must be quite the traffic system.    I am f
