Sweet Sleipnir, Forever Remembered

I was going to go to bed.

Grarr asks me to go and run a 6/10 plex. I'm like, "Sure!"

I undock Poobear, the Sleipnir. I log in Chella and slip into Spray Tan, the Scimitar. I'm feeling good about things.

We do the site and almost nothing drops. Okay, not a big deal. Whatever. It is bedtime.

And, Grarr sees a Charon on scan in Onatoh. "Grarr," I said, "It's bed time."

"But a, Charon!" he says.

"Ugh." I leave Chella on the gate and warp Sugar off. As she starts to warp the Charon lands on the gate. It is to late for Sugar but I send Chella to back up Grarr. I turn Sugar around and go after him. "How is it going?" I asked him.

"It's pointed but they are repping it."

They had a support fleet of a Hurricane, Exequror, Incrusus, Griffin. Grarr is all, "Kill the Hurricane!" and I'm all, "But I'm multiboxing!" Oh well. I wind up shooting the Hurricane. Grar is in a Machariel, did I mention that?

We call for help but its USTZ and Snuffbox is asleep. Wex starts our way. So we're shooting it and its dying and the Charon is pointed. I set my drones to the Exequror and the Hurricane dies. Then onto the Exequror and suddenly, the field is clear and we're killing the Charon.

What a great night? Right? First kill this month. Nice and productive evening before bed. What more could a girl want?

Then a wild, fucking cruiser fleet appears. The Charon is dying and local is spiking and I know I'm going to die. They land, shoot the Charon.  Shoot us, point us, and I just start dying. The Charon dies. Chella dies. Sugar dies. Bye, bye Spray Tan the Scimitar. Bye, bye, PoohBear the PvP budget Sleipnir.

Pods are out. I'm sad over my Sleipnir and somewhat flustered. I hate trying to multibox with Logi and I'm bad at it. I managed to screw up and get Chella agressed. She didn't hop the gate when I asked and instead burned in a fire.

Grarr? He walks his Machariel out of that and warps off.

They told me that they voted for me. I'm glad they got to shoot me. I shot them to, although without the success of the earlier fight.

And now, it is good night. I convoed a member of the fleet afterwards to find out where they had come from. We traded stories. I asked where they had come from. They had hopped in from high sec looking for fights. A total random situation. They wanted to know what was going on with the Charon. I wished them well.

  2. Think of it from the perspective of the high-seccers. they came in a cruiser fleet and got to kill a CHARON. Plus a sleipnir, almost a machariel! Those folks will be retelling this story for white a while.

On top of that, a CSM kill !!

As someone who tries to be a content provider for his alliance mates, I love it when something this memorable happens when taking a fleet out on a roam.

So yes, it sucks to be you tonight. but just think how happy everyone else was (ok, the Charon pilot will be just plain grumpy). Your decision to go for the kill may several folks happy.

    2. Chuckle. I was like, wow, good job Sugar. :P

I hope I don't sound mad. The entire thing was head shakingly amusing. Its weird being the exciting kill on someone's roam. :)

Maybe one day!

It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

And back again

My very slow wormhole adventure continues almost as slowly as I am terminating my island in Animal Crossing.  My class 3 wormhole was not where I wanted to be. I was looking for a class 1 or 2 wormhole. I dropped my probes and with much less confusion scanned another wormhole. I remembered to dscan and collect my probes as I warped to the wormhole. I even remembered to drop a bookmark, wormholes being such good bookmark locations later. My wormhole told me it was a route into low sec. I tilted my head. How circular do our adventures go. Today might be the day to die and that too is okay. That mantra dances in the back of my head these days. Even if someone mocks me, what does that matter? Fattening someone's killboard is their issue not mine. So I jumped through and found myself in Efa in Khanid, tucked on the edge of high sec and null sec. What an interesting little system.  Several connections to high sec. A connection to null sec. This must be quite the traffic system.    I am f
