The Aftergank Chat

Vov's connection has been super bad of late. He has occupied himself doing things like ganking haulers and tackling drakes in Breachers. Today, he decided to spend the day ganking miners. Why? It amuses him pretty much. He does kill people for the pleasure of it and the tears. Normally, a few lines or a bit of hate mail happens.

I really enjoy Vov. His world view, attitudes, focuses, opinions, and almost everything else about him is the complete opposite of my own. Yet, we mesh so well in chat and in fleets. And he is like a ball of flammable acid when he goes off on things yet I adore his rants. It all goes to say that Vov is not nice and enjoys doing about everything 'terrible' in Eve with glee. Yet, he can also walk a new player through the basics with an amazing amount of patience. And then report them to CCP when they gleefully tell him a month later they have started botting.

During his gank everything spree, he killed a Retriever and the Retriever's pod. The pilot convo'd him and it went down hill from there. A bit in I asked him to give me both sides. The start doesn't have all of his responses but it picks up. The rest of this blog post after the cut is just their conversation.

Here is Vov's killboard for reference http://eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=701172. He also has an alt he PvPs with and he spends a lot of fleet time as a logi pilot.

[00:36:17] Infected Space-Monkey > oh well, i figured mining was where asshats didn't hang out, sorry to think better of you

[00:37:49] Infected Space-Monkey > no, i though because i was in high sec i was aaway from general dougebag teenagers that spank it hard core to podding an unarmored combatant

[00:38:21] Infected Space-Monkey > se la vie, shows me that general teenagers these days are so inept at real pvp they have to dreg in high sec

[00:40:08] Infected Space-Monkey > oh well teaches me that kids like you that work at the burger king really are douchebags

[00:41:54] Infected Space-Monkey > ah, so a griefer then, makes sense, mommy tell you to clean your room today?  so you gotta go spank a hard one off on soem pixel deaths?

[00:43:03] Infected Space-Monkey > true, more of an inconvenience, not mad, just figured all douchebags like you would be griefing real players

[00:45:27] Infected Space-Monkey > well congratulations, i hope you feel like a giant for podding me

[00:46:03] Infected Space-Monkey > that's it, you can't compete in null so you grief in high, ahhh makes sense, thanks for shining the ligh ton it

[00:47:48] Infected Space-Monkey > no but that is where real players are, you are just a forgotten dump of semen on the asscrack of your mommy.  Why you trying to justify your actions if you are so superior?

[00:48:51] Infected Space-Monkey > inferior people tend to justify inferior behavior when they can't compete with their peers!

[00:49:19] Viceorvirtue > trying to find the last time i did nullsec stuff

[00:49:26] Viceorvirtue > http://teamliquid.killmail.org/?a=kill_related&kll_id=14461587

[00:49:57] Viceorvirtue > hmmm thats old, ill try to find something more recent

[00:50:30] Infected Space-Monkey > so you are now trying to not only justify your behaviro but prove that  you have the chutzpah to compete?  So, what you are telling me is that you are so mentally inadequate that you have to prove it by taking pictu...

[00:52:10] Infected Space-Monkey > so according to that you can't hang in null without a team?  wow no wonder you grief in high

[00:55:23] Infected Space-Monkey > more justification that really has no bearing on this

[00:54:05] Infected Space-Monkey > so no you are a habitual liar?  you solo'd when you killed me so that statement is just false, seems to me that you are full of bullshit, too bad your parents didn't let you develop mentally before sticking you in p...

[00:55:58] Viceorvirtue > k so let me get this straight, anyone who doesnt solo in nullsec is terrible at the game?

00:56:38] Infected Space-Monkey > no just you, 19m and you feel like a god, meh, pretty pathetic if you ask me

[00:56:53] Infected Space-Monkey > over justification of how great you are is a sign of an iferior person

[00:57:01] Viceorvirtue > eh? at what point was i bragging?

[00:57:08] Viceorvirtue > also you convod me

[00:58:20] Infected Space-Monkey > anyway wanna make another 19m come and get it

[00:59:07] Viceorvirtue > you are far more upset about lsing a ship and pod than you should be

[01:00:00] Infected Space-Monkey > not upset, but i'm bored while i go regather my stuff to continue mining so you can come and kill me again, same time in about 10 minutes.

[01:01:00] Infected Space-Monkey > that is unless you are chicken shit

[01:03:52] Viceorvirtue > whats with all the hostility?

[01:04:38] Infected Space-Monkey > what hostility, you are the one that is all big time ass kicker, this time i wanto actually see it instead of reading a different screen,

[01:05:18] Infected Space-Monkey > my 32m to your 13m pure 19m profit come on BRING THE PAIN BABY!!!!

[01:07:35] Viceorvirtue > couldve sworn i told you i dont make any isk doing this

[00:40:37] Viceorvirtue > i dont actually make any profit from this

[01:08:27] Viceorvirtue > yup, told you that 20 mins ago

[01:09:14] Viceorvirtue > you really should be doing your homework and not getting mad over a videogame

[01:10:36] Infected Space-Monkey > not getting mad, just bored while i go back an dget my other ship, you like to harass, i love to converse

[01:10:51] Infected Space-Monkey > so, what you are saying is you can't afford to lose your ship again

[01:11:17] Viceorvirtue > ive currently got about 7 left in the hanger

[01:11:38] Viceorvirtue > probably going to get pizza soon tho

[01:11:55] Infected Space-Monkey > ah, so now you are making excuses that you are not compotent enough to do it again

[01:12:32] Infected Space-Monkey > nice, did they teach you at public school or community college?

[01:13:19] Viceorvirtue > the thing you said about me harrassing and you conversing, i think you got that backwards

[01:13:41] Infected Space-Monkey > did you not attack and pod me to get a reaction?

[01:14:07] Viceorvirtue > i attacked and podded you to attack and pod you

[01:14:09] Infected Space-Monkey > so you don' tlike the reaction you bail like a bitch, all i'm saying is come back to the same spot and do it again, but you don't have the chutzpah

[01:14:58] Infected Space-Monkey > no you attacked and podded me to grief me and laugh, but now that someone has identified the weakness in your character and is throughougly investigating it you are upset like a 12 year old girl, hmm does daddy call you princess when pulling your hair?

[01:17:43] Viceorvirtue > and me attacking and podding you is what? a direct personal attack or something?

[01:20:26] Infected Space-Monkey > no, a psychological trigger of your inadequate mental development caused by being a latch-key child

[01:24:52] Viceorvirtue > and hopefully you can focus more on your homework than on playing computer games
[01:20:47] Infected Space-Monkey > oh well, you didn't show up, guess my theories are correct

[01:22:37] Viceorvirtue > what? that some people take spaceships far more seriously than others?

[01:23:27] Infected Space-Monkey > oh well se la vie, a toute le monde my compadre fly useless like you will in real life

Maybe one day!

[15:32:10] Trig Vaulter > Sugar Kyle Nice bio - so carebear sweet - oh you have a 50m ISK bounty - so someday more grizzly  [15:32:38 ] Sugar Kyle > /emote raises an eyebrow to Trig  [15:32:40 ] Sugar Kyle > okay :)  [15:32:52 ] Sugar Kyle > maybe one day I will try PvP out When I logged in one of the first things I did was answer a question in Eve Uni Public Help. It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

Conflicted

Halycon said it quite well in a comment he left about the skill point trading proposal for skill point changes. He is conflicted in many different ways. So am I. Somedays, I don't want to be open minded. I do not want to see other points of view. I want to not like things and not feel good about them and it be okay. That is something that is denied me for now. I've stated my opinion about the first round of proposals to trade skills. I don't like them. That isn't good enough. I have to answer why. Others do not like it as well. I cannot escape over to their side and be unhappy with them. I am dragged away and challenged about my distaste.  Some of the people I like most think the change is good. Other's think it has little meaning. They want to know why I don't like it. When this was proposed at the CSM summit, I swiveled my chair and asked if they realized that they were undoing the basic structure that characters and game progression worked under. They said th
