Acquisition Accessibility

I dislike having ideas because they are normally self serving.  Self serving ideas are not necessarily bad but my own needs are a horrible filter as to what is a good, bad, or indifferent idea. Thus, my chances of having a bad idea that sounds reasonable to myself are much larger.

I'm a drug dealer and one of the biggest irritations I have is that I cannot gather a lot of the base resources for my drugs in any type of effective manner.  I will not say that I cannot gather them. I could.  I could spend countless hours installing jump clones all over various regions, tuck ventures in, and spend hours hunting down gas clouds while avoiding people trying to kill me.  If I can even get into some of the areas due to them being in null sec.

In Molden Heath I can collect the gas that lets me make Sooth Sayer.  Now, Sooth is one of the most underused drugs on my list. I don't even make it because I can't sell it. I'm sure someone uses it. After Fozzie finished beating Tracking Enhancers with his nerf bat maybe people will want it. Currently, it is not on my list of ways to make ISK.

I hate that. I'd like gas to be more like asteroid distribution.  Not every asteroid is in every region but every region has several different types of asteroid.

The four empires are each defined by their own nebula.  The nebula are beautiful. However, it seems to me that they should supply more than one type of gas per region. Nebula are composed of gases and particles. These various gases and particles are how they get their color. I would think that these gas clouds would disperse in more than one small region considering that each nebula has more than one region..  Even if two types of gas were available per region it would open up my ability to gather a bit more on my own without cutting off the usefulness of others gathering and supplying.

Monopolies seem to me to be both good at bad. They are interesting and give value to a resource on one hand but on another they make denial by one group to everyone else very easy. Some areas of Eve, for one person to go out and gather things, are so inhospitable and ridiculous to access that gathering the resource in any conceivable manner is not going to happen.

I'm fine with not being able to supply myself with everything in the game at a low effort. I'm also fine with having some things require a major effort to acquire on my own. Yet, there is a midpoint of functionality I'd like to have access to.  Drug manufacturing is already a bulky business where material transportation consumes a lot of time and logistics.

But my idea may be born out of personal want instead of being useful in anyway.

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. My very slow wormhole adventure continues almost as slowly as I am terminating my island in Animal Crossing.  My class 3 wormhole was not where I wanted to be. I was looking for a class 1 or 2 wormhole. I dropped my probes and with much less confusion scanned another wormhole. I remembered to dscan and collect my probes as I warped to the wormhole. I even remembered to drop a bookmark, wormholes being such good bookmark locations later. My wormhole told me it was a route into low sec. I tilted my head. How circular do our adventures go. Today might be the day to die and that too is okay. That mantra dances in the back of my head these days. Even if someone mocks me, what does that matter? Fattening someone's killboard is their issue not mine. So I jumped through and found myself in Efa in Khanid, tucked on the edge of high sec and null sec.
