New Alt, Slightly Used Player

I've made a brand new, sparkling alt and I'm curious if I can find a home for her.

I'd like to expand my horizons but I'm not interested in moving my entrenched life in THC2.  It was a suggestion made to me by my business partner while I was stressing out over some things and also lamenting the fact that I am often alone in my time zone due to my schedule change last year.  He suggested that I try out a new character and go and find a corp that does things a bit differently and see some more of the world.

I mulled upon it and found it not to be a bad idea.  I'm the first to say that my experience is pretty limited.  I've grown up a low sec pilot.  I know little to nothing about high sec. I know little about null, less about Sov, and I think I've been into wormhole space a total of three times.

I'm a social person and I have noticed that I currently spend the start of my time zone alone.  Due to my work schedule I'm often on during the early day after down time on weekdays and few people that I fly with are on.  I do some scanning, tend my industry and often ship spin, write and chat my hours away.

Now, one might say this is a perfect time to go off solo and do that type of thing.  Going solo has become a personal demon for me simply because it is not what I want to do. I like my fleets. I like being social. I like doing things with other people.  Trying to force myself to fly solo only causes me to not want to do anything. I've been trying to shove myself into a situation I don't fit in because other people think it is the best thing for me.  I'm going to have to say that it is not for where I am right now.

Why make an alt?  Why not buy one?  Or use one of my not Sugar alts?

Most of my combat accounts have dedicated support roles outside of Sugar who is my 'main'.  I'm also interested in a few things that come with a new account.  Will anyone take me in?  Life as a pilot with some starting from scratch.  I also don't want any baggage sot hat I can throw myself in with enthusiasm.

Why not just go and do it vs announcing it?  Because I want to blog about it.  I'm not a spy. I'm not an Awoxer. I'm just me doing some more stuff as me. I want to be able to blog about things. I want to write about my experiences as I currently do.  I don't want to run around playing cloak and dagger. I don't want to spend my time lying.  While others enjoy it deeply and that is the game they play it is not the game that I want to play.  I don't have the energy to spend hours playing pretend and then not doing my favorite pass time of writing about what I do in Eve.  Of course it may backfire against me. It is Eve after all, game of the paranoid.  But me?  I'm just me all of the time.

Also, this is what people suggest to new players.  Start Eve.  Find a corp.  New players are useful. I advocate it as well.  I'm curious to try the path myself. It will help with encouraging others later.  The only bonus is that I get to have full access to my finances because I'm not playing ridiculous games of hide the alt. I'm not going for a pure experience just something different.

As for what I want to do? I don't know. I'd like it to have pewpew.  Beyond that, I'm pretty open to trying things out.  I need to expand my horizons some.

So.... Brand new skillless alt, used player, financially independent  okay at learning, normally easy to get along with, blogs a lot looking for some stuffs to do.  Contact Sugar Kyle.  :)

    2. If you're interested in FW, I've got a little minmatar faction warfare corp (about a dozen folks). Fun pilots, usually doing something most nights. Based out of Auga, mostly.

    3. Biggest problem with Minnie FW is tripping over THC2.

    4. Yeah, I can see where that would be a problem. Shooting yourself and all that. :)

  4. Have you tried Wormhole life?

While we (Foo Holdings) have some space for more players (and bloggers are welcome), we have an industrial bent rather than an initiating PVP disposition. In a wormhole, PVP is a fact of life even for the most carebearish.

Penny (of www.tigerears.org) seems to enjoy a wormhole pirate's life.

Maybe one day!

It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

And back again

My very slow wormhole adventure continues almost as slowly as I am terminating my island in Animal Crossing.  My class 3 wormhole was not where I wanted to be. I was looking for a class 1 or 2 wormhole. I dropped my probes and with much less confusion scanned another wormhole. I remembered to dscan and collect my probes as I warped to the wormhole. I even remembered to drop a bookmark, wormholes being such good bookmark locations later. My wormhole told me it was a route into low sec. I tilted my head. How circular do our adventures go. Today might be the day to die and that too is okay. That mantra dances in the back of my head these days. Even if someone mocks me, what does that matter? Fattening someone's killboard is their issue not mine. So I jumped through and found myself in Efa in Khanid, tucked on the edge of high sec and null sec. What an interesting little system.  Several connections to high sec. A connection to null sec. This must be quite the traffic system.    I am f
