Bouncing Around

I had my first op as a logistics ship.  I snuck into 7-2's fleet before they remembered to make it private and run away from me (I was invited... someone might believe what I just wrote there).  I had jump cloned to my clone I keep in their station the previous night.  My goal was to fly in this fleet and then jump clone back to my training clone when everything was done.  Pleased with my decision, an hour before the op, I settled Sugar into the station and finished flying my Orca back to Jita.

PvP is the one time I try not to duel box.  Normally I have 2-3 clients open across my monitors.  However, when engaging in the serious business of internet spaceships I tone it down to one client and my browser and teamspeak.  I will admit you won't find me on coms most of the time.  I'm not a fan of sitting around with my headset on.  I don't like noise just warbling from the speakers. If someone wants me on coms they need but ask I will joined.

Anyway, I got asked if I could fly a Scimitar.  "With Chella," I responded.  I got assigned logi duty for the POCOs they were going to hit.  I made it clear that I had only run logistics for myself and incursions so I apologized if anyone died or I lost my borrowed ship in any possible and future fight.

Structure bashing is one of the biggest topics right now.  Because Eve has a lot of war and a lot of fighting and it only has the single universe player owned structures have a lot of hp (hit points/life) to chew through.  Once that happens, things like POCOs (player owned customs offices) go into reinforcement.  This is a timer, longer than 24 hours, that gives the owner a change to log in, find out that you shit their stuff and come defend it.

This is also a way that we pick fights with other people. Often times in low sec shooting a structure is simply asking a group to come out and play (if they are logged in at their home station but not fighting) or scheduling a fight later with the chance of them losing something they will have to replace later.  Or, in the case of customs offices you can replace them with your own and hope people shoot it so that you can shoot them.

No one came to defend the POCOs.  7-2 reinforced them and got wind of a gatecamp  a few systems away.  They decided to reship to BlOps.  I have my special BlOps Loki in their station so ran off with them to reship.  I'm not very fond of this Loki with all honesty but it is something different.

We got all situated and comfortable.  There was a group shooting at one of 7-2's POCOs.  They had been at it for a little bit.  We sent out our scout who managed to get the cyno lit in his rookie ship.  They bailed and we managed to catch one, singular, Bellicose.  It is a very silly looking kill mail but they got everything else out before we could land points.  With one kill not making anyone feel satisfied we sent the cyno ships back out to find another gatecamp and reformed to wait.

Our bait was not able to engage a gatecamp.  He did everything but type "I am bait please shoot me I have 200 plex on board".  They did not bite at all.  Saddened, the bait was sent back out to keep looking.  I went AFK at this point and somehow we managed to lose a bait ship in the 4 minutes I was gone.  I came back, search, search, search and finally we found Eve Uni.

There were 12-15 of them I think.  We had left our Pilgrim pilot running around.  He chased down their fleet and got them to engage him.  Once engaged the cyno went up and we jumped in.  They had, if I remember things properly, 4 logistics ships.  2 Oneiros and 2 Exequror which is the T1 logistics cruiser.  That is a lot of repping power we had to break through.

We had a triage Archon behind us and when they stayed to fight we jumped it in for our reps.  At that point our FC neatly had us work through their logistics ships and get their repping power down.  Then we started working on battlecruisers as they deagressed and fled.  I had, at one point, a Brutix but I lost it while trying to work on the Oniros.  It is a trade off of pointing vs actually doing the damage needed to kill the things.  They did a good job of spreading out some and moving around instead of just sitting and letting us burn them down one by one.

Right after that a Prowler jumped in.  Fried pointed him in the Arazu and he died.  Wrong place, wrong time, wrong fleet to jump into. Once done we headed back and decided to shut down the fleet.  7-2 stopped at my new store and got themselves some fuel (cheapest place in the area!)and we jumped back to their current home system.

We took a minute to jump the dreds back into the system.  I decided to cyno guard.  7-2 undocked Vindicators and Machariels which made other members undock Broadswords.  They chased each other around in that fun, ridiculous way that happens.  As we sat, derping around the station a random Throax landed.  We tried to kill it but it docked.  Then they accused us of station camping.

I guess it looked like a station camp.  It was not.  They undocked two carriers for some reason.  That we tried to kill.  The Machariels went for bumped.  They docked and shared a long, sordid tale in local.  After that a random cyclone landed on the station and died before he could dock.  After that, bored, we docked up and I went back to working on my market.

Interesting night all around.

  1. You have gallente cruiser 5 and t2 medium blasters. This means that you can get into a blops proteus relatively quickly. Noticable differences include higher dps (but shorter range) due to blasters and a much longer longpoint/scram. Give it a shot if you enjoy blopsing and you might perfer it to the loki.

Maybe one day!

[15:32:10] Trig Vaulter > Sugar Kyle Nice bio - so carebear sweet - oh you have a 50m ISK bounty - so someday more grizzly  [15:32:38 ] Sugar Kyle > /emote raises an eyebrow to Trig  [15:32:40 ] Sugar Kyle > okay :)  [15:32:52 ] Sugar Kyle > maybe one day I will try PvP out When I logged in one of the first things I did was answer a question in Eve Uni Public Help. It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

Conflicted

Halycon said it quite well in a comment he left about the skill point trading proposal for skill point changes. He is conflicted in many different ways. So am I. Somedays, I don't want to be open minded. I do not want to see other points of view. I want to not like things and not feel good about them and it be okay. That is something that is denied me for now. I've stated my opinion about the first round of proposals to trade skills. I don't like them. That isn't good enough. I have to answer why. Others do not like it as well. I cannot escape over to their side and be unhappy with them. I am dragged away and challenged about my distaste.  Some of the people I like most think the change is good. Other's think it has little meaning. They want to know why I don't like it. When this was proposed at the CSM summit, I swiveled my chair and asked if they realized that they were undoing the basic structure that characters and game progression worked under. They said th
