My Kitty Addiction

There I was with Demon Eyeball the Daredevil.  I was looking at him.  He can't help but look at me.  The entire front is a big eyeball.  I control the camera after all so no looking away.  I was trying to fit him.  I like the slot layout a lot.  Three mids, four lows, 2 turret highs and a utility high with three rigs.  I feel like I am fitting a confused, poorly gunned cruiser.  I also realize I have no idea what I am doing.

I start with the basics.  Prop mod.  Point.  DCUII.  Now what?  Really, I don't know.  Web bonus so obvious webs.  Okay.  Uhh... I played with it and looked at it and played some more and eventually with a CPU mod, some downgrading to meta 4 mods here and there I shoehorned a vicious little fit together.  Then I was advised to get a faction MWD and Web.  I whined and then it was pointed out that the damn thing costs 80 million ISK.  I might as well fit the modules to it to make it shine.

What the hell am I doing?  This little frigate was about to turn into a 200ish mil ISK accident waiting to happen.  I am not yet ready for the cost of the ship vs my experience   I've been flying a lot of frigates lately and I need to fly a lot more before I start flying expensive ones.  I put him back on the shelf.  Maybe another six months.  One step at a time.

It is a very exciting time for me.  I have always been in love with frigates.  The first time I tasted the fact that small ship does not mean death against a big ship when flown properly, I was addicted.  I've always been drawn to interesting over rawly powerful. It was an option that was available before but much more limited.  I was directed into a cruiser and then a battle cruiser simple because gate and station guns are a part of low sec life and I needed the tank those ships provided.  Before, it was null sec roams and suicide frigates.  The problem with a suicide frigate is that it takes you out of the roam.  Reshipping is sometimes far away and not an option.

We were all apprehensive of Crimewatch.  I say apprehensive because I am being nice.  People were terrified.  They were dug down into bunkers staring at CCP while frantically gnawing off their own legs before they even got caught in a trap.  With blood spurting from amputated limbs people waited for Retribution to come down and smite with hell fire and brimstone.  Then, they'd salt the systems just to make sure and walk away, low sec as a problem solved.

And then it didn't happen.  Retribution has done a lot to affect certain parts of the game.  I'm not happy with everything. I'd love to moan in pleasure at every single thing that happened, but I'm still 90% happy.  I had to take -10% for the Hurricane changes.  I'm still whining.

But the gate gun changes.  I cannot explain how fantastically they have changed my life.  The warping off and warping back to continue to fight is amazing.  Drones are now a serious power horse of the fight.  I was chewing drones off of one of my fleetmates in a fight the other day to break him free of their jams.  It is no longer "Toss them to the wind and hope they do something before gateguns destroy them" or "Drone DPS doesn't matter, gateguns".  Randy even made a comment about "how I like to fly."  I was like "What?!" and he goes, "You like frigates!" as I orbited him in my Jaguar.

I am loving the frigate life.  I need to buy around 100 more Jaguars.  They are amazing.  For these tackle jobs I'm not worried about DPS.  Speed, tank, point, cap usage, rawr!  Pods!  Pods errywere! Mmmm!  Like Cadbury eggs.  Only I like pods and I've never been able to consume an entire Cadbury egg.

Of course, I ended tonight by losing my Jag to gateguns.  I forgot that the logi had left the field.  I got the pod thou.
Kill right on you made available
From: CONCORD
Sent: 2013.01.14 04:02 The kill right Gubble of Carltown has on you has been made available to all for 0 ISK.
So much fun!  :D

Then I logged in this morning and looked at my sec status.  Ahh... pods.

P.S. Sugar's ships are male as far as Sugar is concerned.

P.S.S. I tried to get Nosy Gamer to write my post for today but he refused.  :(

  1. The daredevil is a real beast and if you ever take it out follow the advices of faction mods. They will help you survive longer.

Not that powerful but a bit less expensive would be the gallente navy comet. You might try some of those as an exercise before flying the daredevil.
But I must admit I haven't checked the stats of comets against the new T1 frigates.

  2. The Fed Navy Comet is a great ship to test for the daredevil, it has about the same dps and slot layout. Also both fair better with rails than blasters in my opinion.

Maybe one day!

[15:32:10] Trig Vaulter > Sugar Kyle Nice bio - so carebear sweet - oh you have a 50m ISK bounty - so someday more grizzly  [15:32:38 ] Sugar Kyle > /emote raises an eyebrow to Trig  [15:32:40 ] Sugar Kyle > okay :)  [15:32:52 ] Sugar Kyle > maybe one day I will try PvP out When I logged in one of the first things I did was answer a question in Eve Uni Public Help. It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

And back again

My very slow wormhole adventure continues almost as slowly as I am terminating my island in Animal Crossing.  My class 3 wormhole was not where I wanted to be. I was looking for a class 1 or 2 wormhole. I dropped my probes and with much less confusion scanned another wormhole. I remembered to dscan and collect my probes as I warped to the wormhole. I even remembered to drop a bookmark, wormholes being such good bookmark locations later. My wormhole told me it was a route into low sec. I tilted my head. How circular do our adventures go. Today might be the day to die and that too is okay. That mantra dances in the back of my head these days. Even if someone mocks me, what does that matter? Fattening someone's killboard is their issue not mine. So I jumped through and found myself in Efa in Khanid, tucked on the edge of high sec and null sec. What an interesting little system.  Several connections to high sec. A connection to null sec. This must be quite the traffic system.    I am f
