No thank you Mr Trap, not interested this morning

I scanned down a 4/10 this morning in a neighboring system. Space was pretty quiet so I decided to go and do it. It meant a reship on my side to my armor cane and an undocking of my oni to keep me repped. Yes, I am terrible at PvE but at least I get it done.

It worked out beautifully. The only time it got a bit warn was when I was waiting to take all the aggro in the second room.

Reps me! Reps me!

I read lots of bullshit from people who do not live, nor even dip their toes into low sec and null sec about what a risk free environment we have.

When I was in the second room, a member of a corp that is unhappy with us passed through in their pod. I decided to pick up the pace and went for the faction rat who would drop my loot. If that corp was up and awake, it would not take them that long to find me. My scout was sitting at the gate, cloaked. I try to be careful. Inattention has already gotten me killed stupidly, recently.

I scooped the loot and found out that Eve has forgiven me for the not very brilliant drops recently. I scored a Gistum C-Type Adaptive Invulnerability Field which is about 470mil from what I see. *love* I'll offer it up to my corp mates before I take it off to sell it. This is the most expensive shiny I have popped all by myself so far I think.

As I was looting and salving the wreck (love T2 salvage as well) the same pod from the same corp came back in with someone else. Scan says, "Tengu, Drake".

Interesting. I get myself collected and start moving my toons. The Tengu vanishes without dropping probes. The drake hangs around. It smells like bait and a trap to me.

Now, do they think I'm going to go for this drake? Do they think I've not noticed the Tengu? The Tengu is cloaked for a while and then leaves system. The drake is still fucking around. I dock everyone, and watch with my scout. The drake continues to shake its ass obviously on the gate. I continue to ignore it. Then bingo... the rest of the fleet jumps in.

Drake, Talos, Scimi, Drake, Tengu.

Hello Mr Trap, I'm not interested today. They left system. Local stayed quiet. I scouted myself back home and settled my shiny into my hanger.

People ask me how do I make my ISK? I carebear, just like erryone else.

Bed time, work calls.

  1. Fascinating blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere?
A design like yours with a few simple adjustements
would really make my blog stand out. Please let me know where you got your design.

Memoirs - Part One: Virtual Worlds

Virtual Realities: Memoirs of an internet spaceship politician by Sugar Kyle CSM9, CSMX
This is where it really started. The day I lost my mind.

I never told anyone how long I had been debating my run for the ninth CSM. The thought started to circle in the back of my thoughts in November. I was back home after a sucessful Eve Vegas. I had met a few people. My notes from the presentations and round tables had gone over very well. I felt useful, comfortable, and excited that I was a member of the community. I belonged and I cared about this thing that I belonged to. That thing was the community of Eve Online.
Eve Vegas of 2013 was when I found out that a conversation I had been fortunate enough to have with CCP Masterplan at Fanfest of that same year, had sparked enough interest to gain developer attention. At Eve Vegas I learned that they would be working on ideas based off of the premise that I had presented. Only days later, a developer posted to the Offical Eve Online forums about i…

CSMX - Post #20

Summer is here and CCP is very much out of the office. Sion made a good point in wondering why everyone leaves Iceland when it has its best weather. What it means is that all is mostly quiet on the dev blog front. There are some things happening but the dev blogs and news announcements have not yet happened. The skill points were delivered on Tuesday so yay for unallocated skill points.

Over in CSM chat, there has been a lot of back and forth about sov and measuring the impact and success of things so far. I can say that CCP and the CSM are watching it. The pros and cons are coming in pretty hot and heavy. Some are being looked at now. Some have to see how things are going and if and how the direction needs to be tweaked.

In my corner, I'm starting to gather things together. The summit is in seven or so weeks. In between then and now I need to gather up my question list and write down a few topics of discussion. I'm starting now because I have personal vacation at the end of A…

The Charm of the Familar

With a few picked up a shifts at work due to the holidays. I pondered logging in but I didn't have the energy to do so. Being able to say no to logging in is pleasant. Just as my youngest puppy interrupts me every fifteen minutes to pee, going to sleep instead of staying up is also pleasant. I had a lot of short slept nights when I was active in a corporation.

My next plan has been to learn how to scan again. The new map is in and I need to refresh my scanning skills. My hold is full of probes. My ship appears to be reasonably set up. I remembered how to hit my F key to cloak. In fact, I hit it a bit to fast. I need to get the ebb and flow of the tic back down.

I am also rusty in my paranoia. I idly switch to another window to research breadbowls and the soup I want to make later. Then I remember I am sitting, decloaked, off of a gate somewhere. Whoops. I did figure out a breadbowl recipe and soup as well.

The question was where do I relearn to scan? I need somewhere off the beate…
