I'm pretty tickled with myself

I've taken up exploration in recent days. I can't call it weeks because it is not.

The first site I found, I got my ass handed to me. It was a very hard site and me, being the stubborn creature that I am attempted to do it. I failed.

I got the great idea to kite the NPCs away from the cans and attempt to hack them.

Much to my delight, it worked.

The first can revealed two skill books. I didn't check on them immedately but later, I did to the tune of 100 mil isk in skillbooks. One was Drug Manufcaturing. The second was Neurotoxicology.

Yay me.

Second site found Nanite Control and Neutrotoxin Recovery as well as Standard Sooth Sayer Booster Reaction.

There are random datacores that I will just shove into a container for a while. Maybe I can dump them as a lot in Jita eventually.

Later that afternoon I wandered to another system a few jumps away and proceeded to hunt down another 3 sites each with data cores and smaller stuff plus a mag site full of salvage with a few t2 salvage bits. Another jump over led me to a Magnetometric site and more salvage. I wound up having to use all of my exploration tools through all of the sites and I've developed a lovely kiting method to deal with NPCs to big for me to shoot.

I'm pleased with my haul. All told I made about 200 mil. If I had sold the one skill book on the market that would have been 450mil. I also have 95mil in buy orders sitting on the market so really I made about 300 mil (once the items sell). I've not made that much in one day before on my own. They are not the sites that drop the type A things that cost a bil isk a pop, but I don't think its that bad for me, just after my 4th month.

I am very excited. I also harvested some gas yesterday. That 15 or 20 minutes of gas harvesting while I was getting ready for work netted about 3mil isk.

The biggest question is what ship to use to do these sites. It has been suggested that I get a cynabal but I'm not sure that I want to start working with a 200mil isk ship (for just the hull) quite yet.

  1. This could be a legacy post for how exploration was way back when.
It makes me smile to remember those days.
I personally don't dislike the new exploration system but reading about how it used to be makes me nostalgic because if you weren't there to see it you can't appreciate how far the game has come. Being part of that history even though I'm nobody special gives a certain sense of satisfaction.

Maybe one day!

It was a random question that I knew the answer of. I have 'Sugar' as a keyword so it highlights green and catches my attention. This made me chuckle. Maybe I'll have to go and see what it is like to shoot a ship one day? I could not help but smile. Basi suggested that I put my Titan killmail in my bio and assert my badassery. I figure, naw. It was a roll of the dice that landed me that kill mail. It doesn't define me as a person. Bios are interesting. The idea of a biography is a way to personalize your account. You can learn a lot about a person by what they choose to put in their bio

Taboo Questions

Let us talk contentious things. What about high sec? When will CCP pay attention to high sec and those that cannot spend their time in dangerous space?  This is somewhat how the day started, sparked by a question from an anonymous poster. Speaking about high sec, in general, is one of the hardest things to do. The amount of emotion wrapped around the topic is staggering. There are people who want to stay in high sec and nothing will make them leave. There are people who want no one to stay in high sec and wish to cripple everything about it. There are people in between, but the two extremes are large and emotional in discussion. My belief is simple. If a player wishes to live in high sec, I do not believe that anything will make them leave that is not their own curiosity. I do not believe that we can beat people out of high sec or destroy it until they go to other areas of space. Sometimes, I think we forget that every player has the option to not log back in. We want them to log

And back again

My very slow wormhole adventure continues almost as slowly as I am terminating my island in Animal Crossing.  My class 3 wormhole was not where I wanted to be. I was looking for a class 1 or 2 wormhole. I dropped my probes and with much less confusion scanned another wormhole. I remembered to dscan and collect my probes as I warped to the wormhole. I even remembered to drop a bookmark, wormholes being such good bookmark locations later. My wormhole told me it was a route into low sec. I tilted my head. How circular do our adventures go. Today might be the day to die and that too is okay. That mantra dances in the back of my head these days. Even if someone mocks me, what does that matter? Fattening someone's killboard is their issue not mine. So I jumped through and found myself in Efa in Khanid, tucked on the edge of high sec and null sec. What an interesting little system.  Several connections to high sec. A connection to null sec. This must be quite the traffic system.    I am f
